Yet I will Rejoice! June 11, 2012

The Just Shall Live By Faith

Hab 1:1  The burden which the prophet Habakkuk saw.

Hab 1:2  O LORD, how long shall I cry, And You will not hear? Even cry out to You, “Violence!” And You will not save.

Hab 1:3  Why do You show me iniquity, And cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; There is strife, and contention arises.

Hab 1:4  Therefore the law is powerless, And justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous; Therefore perverse judgment proceeds.

Wow, Have you ever felt like Habakkuk? Lord, How long shall I cry out to you and you will not hear? Lord all I see is trouble everywhere I look…I see iniquity, strife and contention, but justice never goes forth!  Have you ever felt like that….You are doing all you know how to do, but everything looks negative? God answers Habakkuk..

Hab 1:5  “Look among the nations and watch— Be utterly astounded! For I will work a work in your days Which you would not believe, though it were told you.

God said “LOOK AND WATCH”…and you will be astounded at what you see, it will be more than you could have believed if I told you.

Hab 2:1  I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected.

I like how the prophet answered.. I will stand watch, I will watch to see what the Lord will say to me and how I will answer…  in other words I won’t just be careful to see what the Lord says, I will be careful on how I respond to the Lord.

Hab 2:2  Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.

Hab 2:3  For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

Hab 2:4  “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.

As I read this and studied this morning in the wee hours, such peace came to my heart…. Sometimes we are in situations that can seems soooo overwhelming and then when you turn to the word of God..PEACE COMES IN!! I am so thankful for the Power of the Word of God!! The sad part is that so  many times we suffer so long in our mess till we pick up the word and let God bring His Peace to us!!!

When God answered Habakkuk, he instructed him to do something.. many times we pray and we want God to do something, but we are not willing to do anything… God said..Write the vision and make it plain… What are you believing God for…what is the vision that God has put deep in your heart. He has a plan and purpose for each of us. Jer 29:11. What is the vision that he has for your life? Write it down, be specific so that others can read it and join faith with you!!!!

Hab 2:3  For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry

Then I love what he says.. the vision is for an appointed time!!! We sing a song that says “and time is in His Hand”. That statement brought me so much peace during those times that I was waiting for a vision to manifest. I waited for God to bring my husband for 13 years and many times it seemed like that vision he had given me wasn’t going to come to pass…but see it was for an appointed time.  But at the end it will SPEAK!!! Dead things can’t speak! In other words the dream and vision God has given you WILL NOT DIE!!

Though it tarries, wait for it……….. My friend, Don’t give up!!!!!!!!! IT WILL SURELY COME!

Hab 3:1  A prayer of Habakkuk the prophet, on Shigionoth.

Hab 3:2  O LORD, I have heard Your speech and was afraid; O LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of the years make it known; In wrath remember mercy.

In Habakkuk 2 it is revealed what will happen to the wicked and here we see the prophets response… remember he was crying out for justice, now when he sees it, he says, I have heard your speech and was afraid…. In wrath remember mercy!!! The prophet saw that justice was coming both to the wicked and the righteous.

I want to end with something that I pray will encourage you and strengthen you as it has me this morning!

Hab 3:17  Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls—

In other words.. when your check book is empty, when there is no food in your house, when creditors are calling every day, when your body is writhing with pain and the report from the doctor is not good.. when you see no means of making ends meet… What do I do then Lord?

Hab 3:18  Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

Yet, I will… other matter what I am going through I will… What will I do? I will JOY in the God of my salvation. How do you do that? You Trust Him completely!

Hab 3:19  The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills. To the Chief Musician. With my stringed instruments.

We have to constantly remember that He is our salvation, He is our strength!! We do not have to walk through this by ourselves…He will strengthen you and make your feet like deer’s feet…Huh?? The deer are able to walk on high and rocky terrain and still keep there balance, so my friend with God’s help we can walk through any trying situation and retain our balance and see the vision come to pass.

God Bless you my friend.

Seek and Know God as David did June 7, 2012

Filed under: Uncategorized — Pastors Rick & Carol Mora @ 1:32 pm

Good Morning All,

I was so blessed last night in service as we taught on the following passage and wanted to share it with you. I pray it will speak to you and encourage you as it did to us. I believe David gives us keys in this passage of how to react when we are going through things and how we need to keep our attitude and our actions.

Psalm 63

A Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

 1 O God, You are my God;

The first thing we see that he does here is declare that God is HIS GOD! He Has made a relationship with God and made Him his! Our relationship with god is the first and the most important step we can take. You have to KNOW as David knew that it was a personal relationship, God isn’t just the God the universe, He wants to be YOUR GOD!

         Early will I seek You;

This above sentence show us two things about David. 1. He made God a priority in his life. Early will I seek you. In other words He gave God the first of His days.  2. He sought Him. He did not just wait around for God to reveal himself to him or for others to teach him. He sought GOD. He desired to get to know Him and be with Him.
         My soul thirsts for You;
         My flesh longs for You
         In a dry and thirsty land
         Where there is no water.

David has conditioned his soul and flesh to thirst and long after God. When going through a dry and thirsty land, he knew where to go. He knew what to long after and what to thirst after. In other words He knew what would satisfy him during the drought!!

 2 So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
         To see Your power and Your glory.

David went looking for God. Are you looking for Him? He said he looked for Him in the sanctuary. He knew that in the presence of God there He would find God and were he found God he would see the Power and Glory of God manifest. Even this day as we come together in one accord, we know the presence of God is with us. As the word says were two or more gather together in my name I will be there. We are believing for God’s Power and Glory to manifest in this place and for you to be different than you were when you came in. His Presence, Glory and Power Changes us if we allow him to . It will also change the circumstances around you.
 3 Because Your loving kindness is better than life,
         My lips shall praise you

 His loving kindness is better than life. He knew that life with God and living under the Love of the Father was more than anything this natural life could give him. He made the decision that praise would continually be on his lips, no matter what wilderness he was going through, he would would give God praise.
 4 Thus I will bless You while I live;
         I will lift up my hands in Your name.

David knew the key was to live in a constant state of praise no matter what he was going through. He made the decision. While he still had breath in his body, he would bless his God and he would lift His hands to God is praise and surrender.
 5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,
         And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.

When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.

This is so awesome, because he made the decision that his mouth would praise with joyful lips! Christians should be the most joyful people on the face of the earth. The joy of the Lord is our strength and David knew that! Also He remembered the Lord when he got into bed, and meditated on Him. It is a wonderful time to meditate on God’s goodness for the day as you crawl into bed. It is a good time to examine what happened during the day and how we reacted to it…
 7 Because You have been my help,
         Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice.

God is our help in times of trouble and David knew it was wise to stay close to God under the shadow of his wings and Rejoice in Gods goodness.
 8 My soul follows close behind You;
         Your right hand upholds me.

My soul (my mind will and emotions) follow close behind you.. Are spirit is willing but the  flesh is weak, so we have to train our soul to follow CLOSE behind God and His ways, and as we do that His right hand will hold you up!! Can’t think of a better hand that I would like to be in!!
 9 But those who seek my life, to destroy it,
         Shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
 10 They shall fall by the sword;
         They shall be a portion for jackals.

David knew there were consequences for those who were against him and against the plan and purposes of God.
 11 But the king shall rejoice in God;
         Everyone who swears by Him shall glory;
         But the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.

This verse is such a blessing to me, because I know I will always Rejoice in the Lord and live in the Glory of His Grace, and this is such a blessing, but it doesn’t stop there! It also says that the mouth of those who speak lies will be STOPPED.  I don’t know if you have every had anyone speak lies about you, your ministry or your loved ones, but this verse promises that their mouth will be STOPPED!!

I pray this blessed you as much as it blessed me!
