Good Morning All,
I have a word straight from Gods Heart this morning. Think of God’s hand open and reaching out to you. Now picture your own hand…. Is it open, reaching out to others or is it busy doing those things for yourself? Lets take God’s example and REACH OUT WITH AN OPEN HAND!!
Deut 15:6 For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.
Wow, what a promise this is. I don’t know one person that would not like to see this verse come to pass in their lives. The blessing of God is precious and His promises will not fail! In this time we are living in right now, where many people are having financial troubles, look what God wants for his people. He wants us to lend to many nations and not borrow, he wants us to reign over many nations and not have them reign over us! That sounds wonderful to me, but he doesn’t end there. There are conditions to God’s promises… lets continue on to the following verses to see what he is telling us.
7If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
8But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.
God is speaking to us to be aware of our brothers situations and willing to love them like he loves them. God is requiring us to have a SOFT HEART and AN OPEN HAND. It is so easy for us to get so wrapped up in our own lives and forget what others may be going through.
9Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.
Is this verse telling us if we don’t give unto our brother what is due him, we are in SIN?
10Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.
When we have God’s heart to bless all people, when we have a heart to give and bless, the blessings will come back into us and all we put our hand to!!!
11For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.
This verse reminds us that there will ALWAYS be someone out there in our path that needs something that we can give them. It may be a smile, a hug, a cup of coffee, a listening ear, or even that last $20. in your wallet. We just need to live our live continually open to allow all God has given us to flow freely through us and he will continue to supply it for us to give out !!
Have you ever wanted to really do something to bless the Lord? Have you ever cried out to him and how to love him more, how to bless him? In this verse it shows us that as we care for the poor, we lend to the Lord, and God always repays what is given to Him!!!!
Wow, I am finding verses I haven’t seen before, like this one!! When we give to the poor (anyone in need in any area) may even be those poor in Spirit…the scripture says we will NOT LACK!!!!! But if we hide our eyes from the needs of our brothers or anyone God puts in our path, we shall suffer a consequence…..
Luke 11:6For a friend of mine who is on a journey has just come, and I have nothing to put before him;
7And he from within will answer, Do not disturb me; the door is now closed, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and supply you [with anything]?
Is this our response when someone comes to us with a need? Is this God’s response when we come to Him with a need??
8I tell you, although he will not get up and supply him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his shameless persistence and insistence he will get up and give him as much as he needs.
11What father among you, if his son asks for [h]a loaf of bread, will give him a stone; or if he asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent?
12Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?
13If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good gifts [gifts [i]that are to their advantage] to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and [j]continue to ask Him!
Passage Proverbs 3:27:
27Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
God has blessed us all with many things! As Christians he has blessed us with the knowledge of the Word of God concerning Salvation, he has blessed us with all Spiritual blessings, He continues to Bless us to be a blessing!! We CANNOT withhold all of this LOVE that he has shed upon us!! We cannot be SELFISH and live life just for OURSELVES!! We need to be like our Lord and Savior and be willing and obedient to LAY DOWN our lives for the lives of others!! Is this always easy or comfortable?? Absolutely NOT! But this is who God has created us to be and if we allow Him, he is continually changing us into the image of His Son! Changing us from Glory to Glory!! It is time for the WORLD to see a difference in those of us that proclaim to be CHRISTIANS!! We need to be Christ-like!!! What image do you see when you look into the mirror? We should see a change everyday, that we are looking more like Jesus, we are acting more like Jesus!!! We have the power in our hand to do GOOD. but it is a choice daily if we will do it!! If we will prefer someone over ourselves!
I challange you this morning in every area of your life, to examine your actions and your responses to others! Look first at your relationships in your family, are you doing GOOD, to those around you, are you going the extra mile to bless your family members…., then look at your other relationships whether it be friends or at work, are you blessing the people around you, is your hand open to all of those around you to give out what they may need at the time, whether it be of your time, your finances or just of your love and caring? Then we go the next step to the world around us that we don’t even know…. How do you treat strangers on the roadside of life……. the lady in the store in front of you in a wheelchair that is trying to put groceries up on the conveyor belt…. Do you stand there and watch her struggle or do you step in with the LOVE OF GOD, and cheerful lend her an open hand??
The cry of my heart his morning is to be more sensitive to ALL of those around me!! My family members, my friends or even those strangers that come across my path!! Lord, my hearts cry this morning, is that I yield to you and allow your unconditional LOVE to flow out of me in every situation I am in!! In Jesus Name, Amen
God Bless You,
Pastor Carol Mora
