Good Morning All,

Busy, Busy, Busy………………..

In the midst of the busy ness of life, we have to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN!!!!

Stop_Look_Listen

I know many of us were taught when we were younger about what to do if you caught on fire, STOP , DROP AND ROLL!!

This morning I heard the Lord say to my spirit, STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN!!!

Just to do the first part is hard on many of us! STOP

I can hear my flesh already answering back, “Don’t you see how much I am doing, I can never get everything done and you want me to STOP?”

YES, Nothing that we do on Earth is more important that STOPPING, when the Lord says STOP!!!

Next LOOK…..

What are we supposed to LOOK at?

If you read the blog I did a few days ago, it was on focus. We are to look to the WORD of God, to look to what ever is pure, holy, holy, of good report!!

In other words we fix our heart and mind on HIM and he will keep us in perfect peace… I know this isn’t always eassy to do either…. Sometimes I think my checkbooks calls out to me..LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!! I can tell you for sure, I am not encouraged or built up when I look at it, but when I look into the word of God and I know His love and promises , I am very encouraged.

LISTEN

Many of us fail when it comes to TRULY LISTENING!!! We may take time to pray and layout all our problems to the Lord, we may even take time to praise Him and truly worship HIm, but then we get up and get back to our BUSY SCHEDULE, without giveing him a chance to speak to us!!

Be still and know that I am God! He comes with a still, quiet voice…

The Lord can speak to us many ways..but it all of those ways we have to be in a mode to LISTEN!!!

I am so blessed this morning, that I took the time to be with my Lord and Savior and I STOPPED, LOOKED and LISTENED!!  When we do those 3 simple things, we will be blessed beyond measure!!

God Bless you my Friend!!

FOCUS…..What are we focused on?

Hi there Everyone,

Lately I found myself thinking about life and how many things try to steal our focus away from the Kingdom of God…..

focus

We live in a fallen world, that is filled with the results of the fall. We have sickness and disease, lack, hatred, violence, selfishness, greed and much more surrounding us. We also live in a very fast paced society, where most of us are always busy with doing something!

Lets take a trip to the WORD of God and see what He says we should keep our focus on and why???

Lets start at Philippians 4:8

Passage Philippians 4:8:

8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

In the above verse God gives us specifics where our thoughts or focus should be. This is the exact opposite of the worldly system we live in. You can tell that by just turning on the news for a few minutes…where is their focus?? The news focuses on the BAD reports on the evil being done, the lies, the ugly……
Heres another scripture to look at:

Passage 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12:

   11And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

12That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

Think about this one.. We need to stay focused on our own business, that we would walk honestly in all we do. Sometimes we can allow our focus to be drawn to what others are doing or not doing and begin to judge or act on those things… but we need to stay focused on God’s plan and purpose for our lives so that we are accomplishing what he has for us to do!!

In the days and times we are living in, it is vital to keep our eyes on CHRIST!! Our FAITH needs to be focused on Him and that He is always with us providing what we need at every turn and not looking at the evil or lack that is lurking around the corner… Below is a reminder from the scriptures, not to be concerned about the future, for our future is in his hands!!!

Passage Matthew 6:25-34:

25Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

One last thought…..When Peter walked on the water to Jesus, he did just fine as long as he kept his focus on Jesus, but when he looked at the circumstances, the waves crashing around him he began to sink!! This is such an important lesson for us!! NO MATTER what you are going through today KEEP LOOKING AT JESUS, THE AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF YOUR FAITH!! He will not let the circumstances overtake you, He has already conquored them for you!!

I pray this teaching blessed and encouraged you.  Please feel free to comment or to send us any prayer requests and we will be honored to stand with you believing for God’s BEST in your life!!

In His Love,

True and False WISDOM July 12, 2009

Good Morning Everyone!

As Christians we should all be desiring the wisdom of God for our lives.

There are many references in the Old Testament about the Lord filling the people with wisdom, or putting wisdom on them. Here is a few examples of that:

  • Exodus 28:3 (Whole Chapter)
And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.

  • Exodus 31:3 (Whole Chapter)
And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

  • Exodus 31:6 (Whole Chapter)
    And I, behold, I have given with him Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan: and in the hearts of all that are wise hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee;
  • As you can see by those verses, God desires to fill us with HIS Wisdom, his deisre was always to put His wisdom in the hearts of men.

    Deuteronomy 34:9 (Whole Chapter)
And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.

Here is an example of Joshua being full of the Spirit as a result of Moses imparting it by the laying on of his hands as the Lord commanded him to do.

One great example of desiring wisdom is found in 1 Kings. God asked Solemen what he would like Him to give him and below is Solemen’s reply.

    1 Kings 3

9Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?

Solemen could have asked for anything, but he knew what was most important and he asked for wisdom and understanding.

    1 Kings 4

29And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

30And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

God blessed Solemen not only with Wisdom, but with everything else he needed or desired, because he had his heart right. His heart was to have the wisdom of God in order to accomplish the plan and purpose God had for him.

  • Psalm 111:10 (Whole Chapter)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
  • Proverbs 1:7 (Whole Chapter)
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
  • In those two scriptures we see that that fearing the Lord, in other words having reverence and respect for the Lord and His Word, is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. We walk in the TRUE wisdom of God when we walk in accordance to his commandments, His WORD…..! We get direction, correction and instruction from the Word of God, that is a BIG part of walking in the TRUE wisdom of God. As you see in the last part of that last scripture, FOOLS DESPISE WISDOM AND INSTRUCTION!!

  • Proverbs 4:7 (Whole Chapter)
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding
  • Here it tells us Wisdom is the principle thing… If we have the wisdom of God we can do anything and have the assurance that we are doing the right thing..Where does this wisdom come from, from fearing, reverencing the Lord and His Word!!

  • Isaiah 33:6 (Whole Chapter)
And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure.
  • As we all know we are living in very unstable times in the wordly system. People are in fear , lack and confusion on what is coming next…, BUT we live in another system…..Gods word says that WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE shall be the STABILITY OF OUR TIMES and Strength of Salvation and tha the Fear of the Lord should be our treasure!!  What are you treasuring today…. How much are you treasuring the wisdom of God that He longs to fill you with!! It is our choice daily what we are filled with and what we give place to in our lives.

  • 1 Corinthians 3:19 (Whole Chapter)
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
  • There is a definite difference between TRUE WISDOM AND FALSE WISDOM… The wisdom of this world is FOOLISHNESS with God. Mans wisdom will never take you where God’s wisdom will take you!!  Both Paul and James knew the importance of having the TRUE wisdom from God in our lives and walking in the fullness of that wisdom. Here in Ephesians lets look at a part of a prayer that Paul prayed over the people.

  • Ephesians 1:17 (Whole Chapter)
That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
  • Then here in James he tells us that God wants to give us this wisdom in abundance and all we have to do is ask for it!!

  • James 1:5 (Whole Chapter)
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
  • Lets finish up in James 3, this is where the rubber meets the road…. How do you know if you are TRULY walking in the wisdom of God… IT WILL SHOW!!!

    James 3

13Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

As you can see in this verse…it is easy to tell a wiseman who is walking in the knowledge and wisdom of God. You can see it in their conversation and their works!! This is somone walk in TRUE WISDOM from above! But lets take a look on someone walking in earthly wisdom, which is False Wisdom:

14But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

Wow….That means even though we may Love God with all our heart, but if we are allowing bitterness, envy or strife in our lives in any way, we are walking in a FALSE Wisdom and allowing confusion and every evil work to have a place in our lives!! So we need to keep this out of our lives no matter what the cost is, so that we can walk in the truth of God in His word and In the wisdom that is described in this verse in James 3:17.

17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

In the times that we are living in, it is very important for us to STAY connect to the Spirit of God in us!! The HOLY SPIRIT abides in us now, if we have asked Christ to be Lord and Savior of our lives. It is the person of the Holy Spirit that is the Spirit ot Truth that abides in us. He will show you of things to come, he will teach you and instruct you in the way you should go!! God has given us all we need to walk in wisdom, and knowledge in this time in our lives, it is our responsibility to listen and heed His Word and be willing and obedient to all he calls us to do! Walking in TRUE wisdom is knowing who you are in Christ and who God is in you!!! His word is alive and in you, but you have to activate it by faith!! Without faith it is impossible to please God.All things are possible for those who believe!!

God has done His part, now it is up to us to line up with Him and do what he has already equiped us and commisioned us to do!!

    God Bless You

Are we living up to our Full Potential? July 5, 2009

    Good Morning my friends,

I woke up with this thought this morning. What is our potential in Christ and are we living up to it. I looked up the word potential to better understand this thought that came to me this morning. The meaning from the dictionary is listed below:

    1po·t en·tial
    Pronunciation:
    \pə-ˈten(t)-shəl\
    Function:
    adjective
    14th century
1: existing in possibility : capable of development into actuality

So  in other words, as a Christian, what are the existing possibilities for us to walk in and are we developing them into actuality???
Wow, it makes you think for a minute…..
Lets go to the word and find what is possible for us as believers and are we seeing it come to pass in actuality???
We are going to start out in Ephesians 3:16-20 where Paul is praying for believers. Paul had a revelation from God of who we are in Christ and what is available….
    Passage Ephesians 3:16-20:
16May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].
Because of the Holy Spirit living in us as believers we can be strenghtened and renforced with mighty power! That means strength and power is always available to you, because it is IN YOU ALREADY, in the Person of the Holy Spirit.

17May Christ through your faith [actually] dwell (settle down, abide, make His permanent home) in your hearts! May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love,

Through Faith Christ comes and makes his permanent home in our hearts, we then have the ability to stay rooted in HIS LOVE!! As we allow Him to, those roots can grow SO DEEP, that nothing can shake us, and nothing can pull up those roots.

        18That you may have the power and be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints [God’s devoted people, the experience of that love] what is the breadth and length and height and depth [of it];

19[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!

With the Holy Spirit living in us we have the ability to know and experience the fulness of God’s LOVE. I love how the amplied puts it… We have the potential to become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!

20Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]–

Because of   HIS POWER THAT IS AT WORK WITHIN US, our potential is umlimited!!

Most Christians are living way under the potential that God has set for us to live up to….Lets look some more to see what we are to be doing with the power of the Holy Spirit that lives in us!!

Romans 8 Speaks about life in the Spirit!  This chapter has alot in it and you may want to go back and read it for yourself, but I would like to highlight one point from this chapter.

Vs 11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised Christ from the dead shall also quicken(make especially alive) your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you

Because of the Power of the Holy Spirit in us our mortal bodies can be quicken, made especially alive. We have the potential in us to live in supernatural Health, because of the power at work within us!!
Lets look for a minute at the last words Christ spoke to us before he left this world to go sit at His Fathers right hand…
    Passage Mark 16:15-20:
15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

       17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

19So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

This is so awesome to me, as we go out and do the things the Lord is calling us to do, vs 20 say the Lord was working with them!! God is ever with us in the presence of His Spirit in us and in Christ all things are possible. And in Mark it say All things are possible to those who believe.

We shuould be continually walking in the power of God and signs of that power should follow us!!

    Praise God!!

Lets begin walking up to the potential that is in us!!

    God Bless You

    Pastor Carol
