Good Morning my friends!

It is a new day and Our Lord’s mercies are NEW every morning!!

As I am up this morning early before the sun, I am seeking God’s word for my life today and the word he would have me share with you.  This is the last day in May of 2009 and we will never re-live this day again… All of the things that happened in May 2009 are in the past and we are beginning a new month of June 2009. As I look back on May of 2009 I see some battles we went through, some of life’s circumstances we had to go through….

As I thought in my mind of these situations as battles, I heard the Lord say, I already won the battle, it is your responsibility to WALK IN THE VICTORY!!

jesus_easter

In Colossians 2:14-15 we see what Christ did for us on the cross of calvary.

Passage Colossians 2:14-15:(amplified)
14Having cancelled and blotted out and wiped away the handwriting of the note (bond) with its legal decrees and demands which was in force and stood against us (hostile to us). This [note with its regulations, decrees, and demands] He set aside and cleared completely out of our way by nailing it to [His] cross.

15[God] disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in triumphing over them in Him and in it [the cross].

When Christ went to the cross and then rose again, HE DISARMED THE PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS THAT WERE RANGED AGAINST US!!  In other words he won the battle already!! The enemy is disarmed, but we don’t always see it that way.  How many Christians are talking about the attacks from Satan on their lives…………   HE CAN NOT HARM US, HE HAS BEEN DISARMED!!!

So how can we walk in the victory that Christ has ALREADY purchased for us? How do we continually walk in divine health, prosperity, wholeness, joy, strength and everything else he purchased for us??

I believe the key is in the previous verses in Colossians chapter 2. In the beginning of this chapter Paul is sharing about his concern for the people. As you read all of the books of the bible that Paul wrote, you see his heart, which is just like our Father’s heart. He wants us to walk in the fulness of all Christ purchased for us. He wants us to have wisdom and understand of the mystery of God!

Passage Colossians 2:2:
2[For my concern is] that their hearts may be [a]braced (comforted, cheered, and encouraged) as they are knit together in love, that they may come to have all the abounding wealth and blessings of assured conviction of understanding, and that they may become progressively [b]more intimately acquainted with and may know more definitely and accurately and thoroughly that mystic secret of God, [which is] Christ (the Anointed One).

Then if you continue reading the rest of Colossians 2 you will see the mystery of God that Paul is talking about!! This is the key to walking in the victory that has been purchased for us!!

He states it first in Col 1:26-27

Passage Colossians 1:26-27:

26Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

27To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

We  are able and expected to walk in full victory because we HAVE CHRIST IN US!!!! Then in Chapter 2, Paul goes into further detail of what we have in Christ.

As you read the following passages I want you to see all that you have IN HIM. These are things you don’t have to pray for, you don’t have to beg him for, you don’t have to do without. If you are IN CHRIST and HE IS IN YOU, you already have all of these things and this is how we walk in victory, by knowing who we are and walking in the power and authority he has purchased for us.

I am going to allow you to read the following scriptures for yourself and allow the Holy Spirit to teach you through these scriptures!!

God Bless you and keep you!!

In Christ, Pastor Carol

Passage Colossians 2:3-11:
3In Him all the treasures of [divine] wisdom ([a]comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God) and [all the riches of spiritual] knowledge and enlightenment are stored up and lie hidden.

4I say this in order that no one may mislead and delude you by plausible and persuasive and attractive arguments and beguiling speech.

5For though I am away from you in body, yet I am with you in spirit, delighted at the sight of your [standing shoulder to shoulder in such] orderly array and the firmness and the solid front and steadfastness of your faith in Christ [that [b]leaning of the entire human personality on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness].

6As you have therefore received Christ, [even] Jesus the Lord, [so] walk (regulate your lives and conduct yourselves) in union with and conformity to Him.

7Have the roots [of your being] firmly and deeply planted [in Him, fixed and founded in Him], being continually built up in Him, becoming increasingly more confirmed and established in the faith, just as you were taught, and abounding and overflowing in it with thanksgiving.

8See to it that no one carries you off as spoil or makes you yourselves captive by his so-called philosophy and intellectualism and vain deceit (idle fancies and plain nonsense), following human tradition (men’s ideas of the material rather than the spiritual world), just crude notions following the rudimentary and elemental teachings of the universe and disregarding [the teachings of] Christ (the Messiah).

9For in Him the whole fullness of Deity (the Godhead) continues to dwell in bodily form [giving complete expression of the divine nature].

10And you [c]are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead–Father, Son and Holy Spirit–and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].

11In Him also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, but in a [spiritual] circumcision [performed by] Christ by stripping off the body of the flesh (the whole corrupt, carnal nature with its passions and lusts).

Good Morning All,

As I was meditating and thinking this morning, my heart went to THANKFULNESS. So many times in life we look at what we lost or what we are missing instead of what God has given us and how he has kept us.

369313344_fc5c1d3310

Jeremiah 29:11 (Whole Chapter)
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an
expected end.

We don’t always understand why things happen the way they do, why friendships seem to end, why jobs may end, why sickness and disease try to come upon you, but we have to keep our eyes on Jesus the AUTHOR & FINISHER of OUR FAITH!! Jesus has an expected end for us!!! We may have to go through some things to get there, but our FOCUS must STAY ON HIM and not the things we aregoing through!! I am so thankful today that I know that I am in the palm of his hand. He will never leave me or forsake me… My emotions will go up and down considered what I am focusing on…. That is why he said “I will keep you in perfect peace whose heart and mind is stayed on me”

When we have a revelation of all he has done for us and what is available for us to walk in daily, we can’t help but to be overwhelmed with Thankfulness!!

Colossians 3:15 (Whole Chapter)
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Let me show you in the word of God what happens when we are not thankful for all God has done for us.

Romans 1:21 (Whole Chapter)
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

When you KNOW God and you don’t glorify him and give him the honor and thanfulness due Him, you will become vain in your imaginations and your foolish heart will be darkened. In other words you will begin to see things differently that God wants you to see them.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus today!! Look at all the GOOD things he has done!!!! If you don’t see anything think of the CROSS. He died for you!! On that cross he purchased so much for you, that you may not be aware of yet. He not only purchased salvation, and the forgiveness of your sins, he purchased peace, joy, divine health and so much more!! Keep your eyes on what HE did, so you can accomplish all he has for you to do!!

Thank Him today!!

God bless you

Is change evident in your Life? May 18, 2009

Filed under: Daily Revelation — Pastors Rick & Carol Mora @ 5:11 am

Good Morning Everyone!!

This morning as I was meditating the word, I was in the book of Acts. I believe I am drawn to the book of Acts because I so long for the church to rise up and walk in the boldness and authority that they walked in after the day of Pentecost.

waitingAs I read this morning, my focus was on Peter. Peter was with our Lord Jesus. We know through the scriptures that while Christ was alive, Peter had a revelation of who Christ was, and was even told that he would deny Christ 3 times, which he did as we read in John 18.

Then we see Jesus and his love for Peter after the resurrection where he spoke to Peter in John 2:5-25.  I believe that in this verse, Jesus was allowing Peter to get past his past actions and start a new and fresh journey with the Lord, decreeing his Love and his devotion to him

Acts 1:4And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

You see in Acts 1, that Peter heard the word of the Lord and listened to his instructions to WAIT for the promise of the Holy Ghost.  I think that is one area that we tend to fail in now days, IS WAITING ON THE LORD. We are in such a fast pace generation, with fast food, microwaves…..we become impatient very quickly, but we need to learn to wait and receive what God has promised!!! His timing is perfect!!

Another part of their waiting really stood out to me was how they waited. I know in my heart this is a main ingredient that we need in the body of Christ today!

13And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

Acts 1:14These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

As they waited on the Promise of God they where in ONE ACCORD!!! We need to stay in one accord, in unity as we are waiting for the promises of God, we need to be steadfastly devoted  as they were  then.

In Acts chapter 2, we see the pouring out of the Holy Spirit and we begin to see an evidence of CHANGE in Peters life!!! The sermon he began to preach that day was different than anything he had ever experienced in the past. There was a change evident in HIS WORDS.

Acts 3

1Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

   2And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

10And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

11And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

Then we go to Acts 3: 1-10 and you see where not only his words had changed, but his actions. he not only spoke to this man, but then reached out his hand and lifted him up.

Peter and John were arrested for allowing God to use them, allowing that power that they had received flow out of them and touch others.. As they responded to the accusers….this is what happened…

13Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

They saw evidence of a change in their life and they were able to relate that change to the fact that they had been with Jesus.

Is it still evident today to people if you have been with Jesus?? Yes I believe it is… Even as I examine my own life, I can see a difference in my actions, words and attitudes if I have not spent the time with JESUS as I need to!

Today is a new day! Wait on Him today, Spend time with him today and walk in a new boldness and power allowing him to flow through you in a new and mighty way!!

God bless you all

Attend to the Word! May 12, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Pastors Rick & Carol Mora @ 5:53 am

Good Morning All,

What are we giving our attention to?

Passage Proverbs 4:20-26:
20My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.

21Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart.

heart

We give many things our attention now days, but how much attention are we giving to the Word of God? It says to keep them in your sight, keep them in the center of your heart!!

So many of us do not realize the importance of the word of God!

22For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.

23Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life.

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks….. You can see if the word of God is filling your heart, by what is coming out of your mouth. We need to be speaking HIS WORD consistantly every day.

24Put away from you false and dishonest speech, and willful and contrary talk put far from you.

The verse that has been on my heart this week, has been ” May the words of my mouth and may the meditations of my heart be pleasing to you, My God.” God knows our hearts and judges us by whats on the inside, not what others think. My desire is to Please Him.

25Let your eyes look right on [with fixed purpose], and let your gaze be straight before you.

26Consider well the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established and ordered aright.

Lets keep our eyes fixed on Him and consider where YOUR feet are taking you. We want to be walking in His plan and purpose for our lives.

God Bless You

Are You Living in Perfect Peace? May 10, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Pastors Rick & Carol Mora @ 4:55 am

Good Morning Everyone!!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mom’s !

God is so good and so faithful to teach us and show us things as long as we are hungry for the things of God and we are actively seeking him!!

If you look around you today, do you see many people living in peace in their lives or are most people in fiery trials and that is what you see and hear about??

peace

 Passage Isaiah 26:3:
3You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.

This is a good scripture to meditate upon today!! You have a choice  everyday if you want to live in Perfect peace or in stress, anger and offense. Our responsibility is to KEEP OUR HEART AND MIND FOCUSED ON HIM!

Believe me I know this is not always an easy task when the storms are raging on every side, but what I am learning is that if I don’t have PEACE in my life, its my fault!! God has given us the direction and ability to stay in Perfect Peace.

Psalm 37:37  Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

  • Psalm 119:165 (Whole Chapter)
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.
  • Wow, when we are walking in the fullness of God’s word, being Holy as He is Holy , we will have Great Peace and nothing will offend us!! To me that is something to aim for!! I want to continue move toward that Goal to be in constant Peace and never offended!! It is possible and move than that, it is what God has for us to walk in.

  • Isaiah 53:5 (Whole Chapter)
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
  • One of the things Christ purchased for us on Calvary was PEACE!

  • Isaiah 54:10 (Whole Chapter)
For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
  • This scripture reminds us that no matter what trial we are going through, we have a covenant of peace with our heavenly Father that we not be removed!!

  • Jeremiah 29:11 (Whole Chapter)
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
    (Whole Chapter)
  • Gods peferct plan for your life is to walk in his peace through all situations!!
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.Isaiah 26:3 (Whole Chapter)

  • John 14:27 (Whole Chapter)
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
  • God has given us HIS PEACE, but if you look at the end of this verse, the choice is up to us. WE have a big part to play here. We have to let not our heart be troubled or neither let it be afraid.  We have the control of our emotions, not the other way around!! We need to take the authority hes given us and WALK in the fullness of it.

    Romans 8:6 (Whole Chapter)
For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Where is your heart and your mind? Are you thinking and totally caught up in the problem swirling around you. Are you in the mindset of that song,”Another somebody done somebody wrong song”  Quit thinking about what others are doing or have done to you and start taking responsibility for your own peace. If you are miserable and not in peace, it is a choice you are making. No one can take your peace away, but it is something we can lose by our choices.

    1 Corinthians 14:33 (Whole Chapter)
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

  • Philippians 4:7 (Whole Chapter)
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
  • Colossians 3:15 (Whole Chapter)
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful
  • Hebrews 12:14 (Whole Chapter)
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
  • Colossians 3:15 (Whole Chapter)
And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].
  • God bless you my friends, Meditate on the scriptures about peace. I know for me it is my desire to walk in the fulness of all he has for me, but it is my choice!!

    CHOOSE PEACE!!

    Love you, Pastor Carol

Who or what are you led by? May 7, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Pastors Rick & Carol Mora @ 5:17 am

    Good Morning All,

Today is a new day, His mercies are NEW every morning!! As I am up early this morning I immediately see around me things that need my attention…

Now days we live in such a fast paced life that we are making decisions constantly about where to go and what to do. My question this morning is, who or what is determining where you are going and what you are doing next?????

Can God lead you? Lets look in the scriptures..

    led-by-god

    Deuteronomy 8:2 (Whole Chapter)
And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Wow, in this scripture you not only see that God led them into the wilderness, but there was a purpose. The purpose was to see what was in their hearts!!  I can sure relate to that… We go through circumstances and our reaction to them immediately shows what is in our hearts!!! It can be a scary and embarrassing thing, if your heart is not right!! My husband always says that its like popcorn, when the heart is applied the kernels begin to pop. When heat is applied to our lives what pops out of our mouths…whatever is in our hearts!!

So this was one instance of many where God led people for a purpose to see what was in their hearts.

  • Matthew 4:1 (Whole Chapter)
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
  • This verse shows us that Jesus was led  also into the wilderness to be tempted, but then show us the example of what we are to do during thoses times. You may want to take the time to go and read Matthew 4. It goes into detail on how Jesus reacted when Satan tried to lead him astray. HE QUOTED THE SCRIPTURES!!!

    Romans 8:14 (Whole Chapter)
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

If you have received Christ as your Lord and Savior, you have the Spirit of the Living God living within you. As a son or daughter of God you need to be led by the Spirit of God.

When Christ left the earth, he ask the Father to send the Precious Holy Spirit. The spirit will lead you into all truth!!  Our responsibility is to have relationship with the Lord and to allow him to lead us and not allow circumstances and situations and others to lead us!!

In the world we live in, there is a constant pulling at us to do this or that. I encourage you today to seek God about every decision you make and only do those that HE is directing you to do!!!!

    God Bless you this morning

    Pastor Carol
