Looking for Direction this morning!

path of the word

Good Morning,

As I opened the word this morning, my heart was for direction. I know in my heart when I am searching for direction the best place to go is to the Lord in prayer and to open up His word and allow it to speak to me. There are times in our life that we become so busy doing that we stop seeking His will and His way! Today if you are seeking Gods will for direction I would like to guide you over to Romans 12:9-21.

Sometimes we are asking God for new direction and He leads us back to His word and asks us this simple question, Are you doing what I have already told you??? As I read these scriptures I was pricked to my heart, I realized there is always room for improvement, we just need to be willing to allow the Holy Spirit to convict us as we read the word in those areas that we need to grow and improve. I know God is speaking to me this morning and I pray as you read the following scripture verses that you allow Him to speak to your heart.

Romans 12:9-21 (NKJV)

Behave Like a Christian

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.

10 Bekindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,”[a] says the Lord. 20 Therefore

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”[b]

21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

As we are celebrating the birth of Christ this month, is our behavior a gift to those around you? Are we allowing the LOVE of Jesus Christ to shine through us and touch a hurting and dying world. Are we behaving like a Christian or like the world. Let the image of Christ be formed in us more and more each day.

God Bless You and Keep You

In His Love, Pastor Carol

NO CONDEMNATION! September 2, 2015

Filed under: Uncategorized — Pastors Rick & Carol Mora @ 6:57 am

Praise God. We have so much to be thankful for!!

Sometimes we can be going through the storms of life and we forget to be thankful, all we can see is the storm all around us….but my friend we need to readjust our eyes and see in the realm of the Spirit and you will stand amazed at the GOODNESS of Our GOD!!!

The Lord reminded me of these scriptures this morning and I want to go through them and remind ourselves of what God is showing us here~

Romans 8 New King James Version (NKJV)

If you are a Christian and have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior these are scriptures that will bring you FREEDOM, but you need to realize you have your part to do!! Jesus did His part and made FREEDOM possible, but we have the choice everyday if we are going to WALK in this freedom.

Free from Indwelling Sin

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,[a]who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

This is a great verse, but many people only quote half of it…There is therefore no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus!!! Yay Praise God…..BUT there is a condition to this verse which put responsibility on the child of God.It is sad how we RUN from RESPONSIBILITY!!!  Yes Salvation is a FREE gift, but it still requires our decision and choices. God has given us a free will.   The verse puts this condition on it..who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

How do we find victory over condemnation? How do we live a victorious life?

#1 You must be IN CHRIST JESUS… Theat means you must have that personal relationship with HIM  where you have asked him to come into your life and be your Lord and Savior and you have acknowledge that He cam and died for your sins and rose from the dead 3 days later and is sitting at the right hand of the Father making innercession for you! When we do that, Father God see us in CHRIST JESUS.When we do this and ask for the forgiveness of our sins and the blood of Jesus to cleanse us from sin, we are made the Righteousness of Christ. We are IN CHRIST JESUS!

#2 You must walk according to the Spirit.………In order to receive this wonderful gift of NO CONDEMNATION, not only do we need to be a christian, in CHRIST, but we need to walk our lives according to the Spirit of God living inside of all true believers. We must be willing to allow the Holy Spirit to guides us in every area of our walk in life and not be led by our FLESH, the lust and desires of this world…

Thank you Father for this Awesome Freedom from Condemnation that you have purchased for us at the cross of calvary. We decide today, to BE IN CHRIST JESUS and to WALK ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT. We give you full reign in our lives to lead us in the way you want us to go.

Thank you for studying the word with me, I will continue with the following verses, as there is so much truth in this chapter for us to grab hold of.

God Bless you,

Pastor Carol

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. August 11, 2015

Filed under: Uncategorized — Pastors Rick & Carol Mora @ 7:09 am

Good Morning,

I just read one of my last posts, God is Faithful to Lead and to Guide and I was blessed to read it again. We continue to be in such a season of change in our lives and in the ministry that it is so comforting to know that as we seek him and acknowledge Him that He does direct our paths.

Have you ever thought you knew what God is doing and ended up totally wrong?

Do Not Boast About Tomorrow

James 4

13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will[g] go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” 16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

When we think we have out tomorrows figured out, beware as we do not know what will happen tomorrow. I want to share with you what has happened in our lives the last few months to give God glory for HIS PLAN, not ours. As I share what we have gone through, keep in mind, God was in control of everything and still is…it may not have gone exactly as we had thought, but HIS WILL IS BEING DONE!

In May of this year Pastor Rick and I went away to Ga for a Christian Conference. We were very blessed and as we drove home we talked about my mom and how I wanted to spend more time with her, so we decided I would spend Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays with my mom. My mom was getting older and she was having some memory issues, so after a few weeks, we KNEW in our hearts it was time for us to move in and be there for her.We had told the Lord long ago when mom needed us we would be there. So the Lord laid on our hearts it was time to move to moms. My siblings all agreed that someone needed to be there and they were grateful that we could do it. So the process started, Rick began packing up the trailer and I stayed at moms full time. Rick was blessed to go to Colorado to meet his sisters and brothers for the very first time, so while he was gone, I finished up the moving as by this time of June 15th my mom was put in the hospital for a high white blood count. So while mom was in the hospital we moved totally in the house  thinking God had moved us here to for the last years of her life. We moved all of our belonging on July 10th, Rick returned on the 12th and we turned the trailer back to the park on the 14th. We had originally planned to keep the trailer till the 30th but the park said if we were out by the 15th we didn’t have to pay July’s rent, so we changed the plans to be out by the 15th.Little did we know, why this change was made.On July 19th Pastor Rick felt the leading of the Lord that it was time to close the ministry in Zephyrhills and God would be starting a new thing here in Tarpon. God had provided a safe place for our people as we were having afternoon service in the building with another church and the people knew and felt comfortable with the pastor and congregation and just moved to the first service.  So here we are beginning a new journey and excited to be here with mom. What we did not know is that on July 21st God was going to call mom home to be with Him.James 4 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

So the last years of moms life turned out to be the last days of her life. I stand here today very blessed that we were here and I was able to care for her during that time. I miss her so much, but I know she is with the Father!

I shared this whole story with you, to show you how as we follow the leading of the Lord, we only see in part and what you think He is doing may not be what He is doing. We know God called us to make this move and that he even got us out of the trailer early so we wouldn’t go back,  if we had waited to turn the trailer over till the 30th and mom passed on the 21st we may have gone back, but God has a plan. We don’t see the whole picture yet, but we trust Him with every step.

Isaiah 55:8-9New King James Version (NKJV)

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

So my friends, whatever you are going through, I want to encourage you to Re-focus on Jesus as I said in my last blog and trust Him that as we acknowledge Him in all our ways, He will direct our Paths. Prov 3: 5 and 6.

So as we are all on this journey of life until God calls us home, continue to Trust him to make a way where there seems to be no way and to Praise Him in every situation as He KNOWS WHAT HE”S DOING!!

Thank you Father for being with us through the seasons in our lives that at the time seems so confusing and unbearable. Thank you for the Comfortable and the Prince of Peace that cover us and lead us through to the next season. I pray for each person reading this, that you would continue to lead and guide them and direct their paths. Lord WE TRUST YOU!

God Bless You,

Pastor Carol

fix our eyes on god

Thank you Father for this morning!

Lord I turn my eyes to you this morning to teach me and others, what to do in the seasons of life, when we don’t know exactly which way to go….There are times in our lives that the problems or circumstances look so large, that it is all we can see. I believe those are the times we need to change what we are looking at and keep our eyes and hearts FIXED on our Father.

Pastor Rick and I are in one of those seasons in our lives where things are have changed. I liken it to Elijah in 1 kings 17

1Ki 17:1  And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

1Ki 17:2  And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

1Ki 17:3  Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

1Ki 17:4  And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

1Ki 17:5  So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

1Ki 17:6  And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

I like this because it shows that God will lead us and tell us where to go! If God did it for Elijah He will do it for me and you! Not only did He tell him where to go but He promised him that there would be provision in that place! If you think of it, the provision was in the place of obedience to the Word of God. If he had not gone where God told him, the provision would not have been there….

1Ki 17:7  And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

Here we see a change in the season of Elijahs life… it was time to make a change, the place of provision had dried up, BUT the provider was still there! Tha is one thing we need to keep in our heart, the circumstances of our life may change, but the Faithfulness of God does not!

1Ki 17:8  And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

God was not silent, he had the next step for Elijah and the people He planned to bless and provide for through Elijah. Boy that another thing to think about..Gods plans for you and I in this new season of our lives, is not just about us, its about the people whom he is sending us to…and there once again will be the provision, not just for us but for those He sends us to!

1Ki 17:9  Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

1Ki 17:10  So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

1Ki 17:11  And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

1Ki 17:12  And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

1Ki 17:13  And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

1Ki 17:14  For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

1Ki 17:15  And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

1Ki 17:16  And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

That story of Elijah ministers to me everytime I read it or teach from it,  God is Faithful , He will lead us and guide us. Another one of the scriptures I am holding on to is in Proverbs.

Pro 3:1  My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:

Pro 3:2  For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

Pro 3:3  Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

Pro 3:4  So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Pro 3:5  Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Pro 3:6  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

This is a promise we stand on, we are keeping His commandments, binding mercy and truth around our necks and TRUSTING in the Lord with all our heart and NOT leaning on our own understanding, in ALL your ways acknowledging HIM and (YAY) HE SHALL DIRECT MY PATHS!!!!!

Right now we are in a season in our life where we are asking God what is next. During this time it can be easy to try to figure it out with our own understanding and even try to run before God and find a place of provision…I don’t want just a place of provision, I WANT HIS PLACE OF PROVISION, I WANT THE PATH HE HAS FOR US!!!!

When any believer is in this situation we have a choice, TRUST God and do it His way or run to the world and do it their way. Gods way is to TRUST him….  The worlds way is to run in fear and to create your own path… I will end this with scripture from Matthew.

Mat 6:24  “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Mat 6:25  “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?

Mat 6:26  Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Mat 6:27  Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

Mat 6:28  “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;

Mat 6:29  and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

Mat 6:30  Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Mat 6:31  “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

Mat 6:32  For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

Mat 6:33  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Mat 6:34  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

My friends I am speaking to myself this morning as well as sharing this with you. As believers we are to walk by Faith and not by sight. When we find worry, doubt and fear appearing in our life, it is time to REFOCUS on our Heavenly Father and off of the problem or situation you are going through. Thank Him today for His faithfulness to lead you and guide you and to provide for you as you seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness!!! Don’t give worry, dount of fear place in your life, it is not from our Heavenly Father. God bless you and Keep you!!

In His Love, Pastor Carol

Give Thanks to the Lord, for He is good for His Mercy endures for ever May 3, 2015

psalm 107

Praise God !

As we are beginning a week away with God, and staying at a beautiful peaceful retreat place out in the woods, my ears are tuned in to hear what He is saying. Sometimes the hustle and bustle of our busy life can muffle the word he has for us. This morning He took me to the following scripture.

Psalm 107 King James Version (KJV)

107 O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

We need to remember even through hard circumstances, We need to give Him thanks, for HE IS GOOD! No matter what He is good and His Mercy endureth FOREVER!! We need to thank Him, for who is is!!!!

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so…. Have you been sharing with others the goodness of God in your life and the fact that He has redeemed you from sickness, disease, and even death!!! God is good and we need to tell everyone!! Don’t be ashamed of your Father, tell the whole world that Jesus saves and that He saved you!!!

And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them…. Have you ever been at this point where your soul is fainted away and your strength is almost gone. You are at a point of great despair in the situations of life…

Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

We have to know where our help comes from and cry out to the Lord believing He is and He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him… I am seeking Him with all my heart this week and I pray you will also. He has delivered us from death and he will continually deliver and lead us as we seek His face!!

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

We need to constantly PRAISE the Lord for his goodness and His wonderful works!! He is an Awesome God and deserving of ALL PRAISE! Praise Him today with all you are!!

God Bless You,

Pastor Carol

hands and ible

What do we do in those hard times in our lives when it looks like we have lost everything and we can’t see how the circumstance will ever turn around for our good???

I am going to take you to a story today and if you can really understand what happened here and how to apply it to your life, change is on the way!!!

2 Kings 4 King James Version (KJV)

Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

Here we see this widow woman was at the end of her rope, her husband had died and she was about to lose her sons…. She needed something to happen that would change her situation….

I want you to see two very important things that we can learn from this story.

First I want to see if you can related to ths womans situation, she is in the depth of despair and there doen’t seem to be anything that she can do that would change the situation. Have you been there, or maybe you are there right now.. a place where you feel totally helpless to bring forth the change that you so desparately need at this time in your life.

#1 There was a person for her to run to that could give her the supernatural directions she needed.

Boy if we can truly understand this, we will have a KEY that will change our lives forever.

I am speaking today to believers, those that know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, this woman that we are talking about was married to a man who was serving and fearing God and I believe that she also love, served and feared God. When she was but in this situation, she CRIED out to the Prophet Elisha and told him her situation… Well my friends, we have someone even greater to CRY out to in our time of need and we have answers to many of our situations written in black and white, right before our eyes.

Jeremiah 33 King James Version (KJV)

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Psalm 121 King James Version (KJV)

121 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Psalm 119:105-112King James Version (KJV)

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

I believe that the answer to every situation that we are going through can be found by calling out to our Father in Heaven, asking for his direction and guidance and searching His word for the answer!!!

That is Key one that this widow woman did, she searched out help from the one that she KNEW and Believed would have the answers…

Do you truly know and believe in your heart that God is and has the answer to every problem you are facing? If you are there my friend you are close to our answer!! He is the answer and he has the SPECIFIC instructions for you…

Lets go back to the story in 2 kings 4 vs 3-4

2 Kings 4 King James Version (KJV)

Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

What??? Did I hear you correctly ..I have this pot of oil and I am suppose to go to my neighbors and borrow A LOT of containers…. I only have a little oil, why do I need a lot of containers…  This story doesn’t tell of a reaction like that, it tells of someone who believed what he said and went and did it, DOUBTING nothing!!!

There are many of Gods instructions that are written down for us, but because they don’t make sense to our natural way of thinking we don’t act upon what he has told us, cause we doubt. We are looking for logical and natural solutions to our problems, instead of doing it Gods way and believing for the supernatural promises of God to manifest.

A couple examples come to mind

#1 Tithing… Tithing makes no sense to your natural mind. If I am in lack how does tithing 10% of all my income help my problem of lack…

Malachi 3

Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.

12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.

It may not make sense to your brain, but it is GODS DIRECTION AND IT WORKS

The other examples that comes to mind is what God says about forgiveness and Love

Matthew 6:15King James Version (KJV)

15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 5:44King James Version (KJV)

44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

God did not say we would understand everything we are to do, He even told us, His ways are not our ways…. But I promise you today, Gods word is true and when you will hear and obey it, you wil find the solution to any situation you are going thru

Lets finish up with the end of our story

2 Kings 4 King James Version (KJV)

Verses 5-7

So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

If you follow the directions of Gods word, you too can experience the supernatural provision, love, and forgiveness of the Father in Heaven…

You have a part to do…

Key 1 Get directions from God how to handle your situation from His Word

Key 2 Do whatever He says!

God Bless you

The cost of Disobedience to the Lord March 21, 2015

Filed under: Uncategorized — Pastors Rick & Carol Mora @ 4:05 pm

I want to share with you my notes from my sermon last week, I think it is an awesome teaching that we need to be reminded of. God bless you as you read and meditate on His Word!

How important is obedience?

This week the Lord has been ministering to me the importance of OBEDIENCE to him!!! If we are not obeying the voice of God in our lives we are living in rebellion. I want to share a couple of examples with you today, and show you that there is a cost for disobedience….

Here’s one example in 1 Samuel 15:18-24

1Sa 15:18  And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.

1Sa 15:19  Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?

1Sa 15:20  And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

1Sa 15:21  But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.

1Sa 15:22  And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

1Sa 15:23  For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

1Sa 15:24  And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

We need to know the word of the Lord and stand firm on it and not allow the fear of what others say or think to cause us to disobey what the Lord has said. The Lord rejected Saul from being King, because Saul had rejected the word of the Lord……We cannot allow what other people say or think to keep us from doing what we KNOW the Lord is telling us. Saul feared the people……more than he feared or reverenced God!!! Sometimes we can fall into that same trap.

Another example of the cost of disobedience is found in 1 Kings 13

1Ki 13:1  And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense.

1Ki 13:2  And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon thee.

1Ki 13:3  And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.

1Ki 13:4  And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.

1Ki 13:5  The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.

1Ki 13:6  And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Intreat now the face of the LORD thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.

1Ki 13:7  And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward.

1Ki 13:8  And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place:

1Ki 13:9  For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.

1Ki 13:10  So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel.

1Ki 13:11  Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.

1Ki 13:12  And their father said unto them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah.

1Ki 13:13  And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon,

1Ki 13:14  And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am.

1Ki 13:15  Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.

1Ki 13:16  And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place:

1Ki 13:17  For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest.

1Ki 13:18  He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

1Ki 13:19  So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water.

1Ki 13:20  And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came unto the prophet that brought him back:

1Ki 13:21  And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee,

1Ki 13:22  But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the LORD did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.

1Ki 13:23  And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the ass, to wit, for the prophet whom he had brought back.

1Ki 13:24  And when he was gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his carcase was cast in the way, and the ass stood by it, the lion also stood by the carcase.

1Ki 13:25  And, behold, men passed by, and saw the carcase cast in the way, and the lion standing by the carcase: and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet dwelt.

1Ki 13:26  And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard thereof, he said, It is the man of God, who was disobedient unto the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD hath delivered him unto the lion, which hath torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake unto him.

This story really ministered to me in a deep way!  We have seen people go to this prophet or this pastor or this ministry instead of going to God himself..It is so important for us to seek 1st the Kingdom of God and to know His word and then DO IT, no matter who gives you other opinions…no opinion is worth following if it contradicts the Word of the Lord!

The man of God had the word of the Lord, he knew it but he allowed someone else that claimed he had a word of the Lord to change his mind….. I cannot stress to you today how important it is for you to stand firmly on the word of the Lord for your life and not waver when someone else speaks over you. You need to know the word of God for yourself and not receive anything that would violate what you KNOW God has shown you!!!!!

We live in a time where disobedience is prevelant.

2Ti 3:1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2Ti 3:2  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

2Ti 3:3  Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

2Ti 3:4  Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

2Ti 3:5  Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2Ti 3:6  For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

2Ti 3:7  Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

2Ti 3:8  Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.

2Ti 3:9  But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

2Ti 3:10  But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

2Ti 3:11  Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

2Ti 3:12  Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

2Ti 3:13  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

2Ti 3:14  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

2Ti 3:15  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

2Ti 3:16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Ti 3:17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

We need to guard against deception in these last days and we can only do it, if we KNOW the Word and we are allowing the Holy Spirit to lead us and teach us!!

Jas 4:17  Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

If we know what we are to do like the examples I gave, the KNEW the Word of the Lord for them and the did not do it and it was sin and cost them everything….

2Co_10:5  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Deu_11:27  A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

Deu_11:28  And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

Deu_27:10  Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.

Act_5:29  Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Gal 5:1  Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

Gal 5:2  Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

Gal 5:3  For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

Gal 5:4  Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Gal 5:5  For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Gal 5:6  For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Gal 5:7  Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?

Gal 5:8  This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.

Gal 5:9  A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

I want to end this blog encouraging all of you. God has a plan for your life and its a good plan. He has a race for you to run!! There is an enemy out there that will try to hinder you from running this race God’s way!! Stand strong on the Word of God and do not let anyone steal the dream and vision that God has placed in your heart! If God said He will do it!!  David encouraged himself in the Lord, cause no one else was there to encourage him at a hard place in His life… I don’t know what you may be going through, but as long as you are following Gods directions and not mans directions you will run the race to the finish and accomplish all He has called you to do!

God bless you,

Are your actions making a positive difference in someone’s life? October 30, 2014

Good Morning!

Jesus Christ is our example… Did his actions make a difference in your life? It has if you have received what he did on Calvary for you.

2 Corinthians 5:21

New King James Version (NKJV)

21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Jesus’ assignment was to come to earth and be the sinless sacrifice for the sins of the world. He accomplished that assignment and now sits at the right hand of the Father. What does God have for you specifically to do before He calls you home to be with him? I believe we have specific assignments during our lifetime here on earth and we need to be walking in the fullness of them. So just as your life was touched and changed by the love and actions of Father God and Jesus, so too does your love and actions affect others? And in turn it will affect your life also!!

Lets look at a great example of someone walking in their assignment to be there for someone else and how it not only ministered to that person, but it changed her life also.

Ruth 1

New King James Version (NKJV)

Ruth 1

Elimelech’s Family Goes to Moab

1 Now it came to pass, in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehem, Judah, went to dwell in the country of Moab, he and his wife and his two sons. 2 The name of the man was Elimelech, the name of his wife was Naomi, and the names of his two sons were Mahlon and Chilion—Ephrathites of Bethlehem, Judah. And they went to the country of Moab and remained there. 3 Then Elimelech, Naomi’s husband, died; and she was left, and her two sons. 4 Now they took wives of the women of Moab: the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth. And they dwelt there about ten years. 5Then both Mahlon and Chilion also died; so the woman survived her two sons and her husband.

Lets look at the situation here for a minute. We see three women here who all have lost their husbands and Noami had lost both of her sons also. You could say it was a very hard time for them and their lives had changed overnight. But we will see in a minute how their actions could affect each others and their own life in a very big way!!!

Naomi Returns with Ruth

6 Then she arose with her daughters-in-law that she might return from the country of Moab, for she had heard in the country of Moab that the LORD had visited His people by giving them bread. 7 Therefore she went out from the place where she was, and her two daughters-in-law with her; and they went on the way to return to the land of Judah. 8 And Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law, “Go, return each to her mother’s house. The LORD deal kindly with you, as you have dealt with the dead and with me. 9 The LORD grant that you may find rest, each in the house of her husband.”
So she kissed them, and they lifted up their voices and wept. 10 And they said to her, “Surely we will return with you to your people.”
11 But Naomi said, “Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me? Are there still sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands? 12 Turn back, my daughters, go—for I am too old to have a husband. If I should say I have hope, if I should have a husband tonight and should also bear sons, 13 would you wait for them till they were grown? Would you restrain yourselves from having husbands? No, my daughters; for it grieves me very much for your sakes that the hand of the LORD has gone out against me!”
Here we see that Naomi is in a state of hopelessness. She wants the best for her daughter in laws, but does not think that it is with her, because she feels the hand of the Lord has gone out against her…. If you had been one of the daughter in laws what would have you done?

14 Then they lifted up their voices and wept again; and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.
15 And she said, “Look, your sister-in-law has gone back to her people and to her gods; return after your sister-in-law.”
16 But Ruth said:

“ Entreat me not to leave you,
      Or to turn back from following after you;
      For wherever you go, I will go;
      And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
      And your God, my God.

17 Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The LORD do so to me, and more also,
If anything but death parts you and me.”

Here we see Ruth take up the assignment God has for her. God had not forsaken Naomi, he just had a new season for her and this season required Ruth to connect with her in such a way.God has assignments for all of us. I believe the assignments are connected to the people that God puts in our lives at certain times. Ruth had a choice her to stay with Naomi or to leave her. She made the choice that would change her life forever. Do you really believe that ONE CHOICE can change your life forever.

18 When she saw that she was determined to go with her, she stopped speaking to her.
19 Now the two of them went until they came to Bethlehem. And it happened, when they had come to Bethlehem, that all the city was excited because of them; and the women said, “Is this Naomi?”
20 But she said to them, “Do not call me Naomi;[a] call me Mara,[b] for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me. 21 I went out full, and the LORD has brought me home again empty. Why do you call me Naomi, since the LORD has testified against me, and the Almighty has afflicted me?”
22 So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess her daughter-in-law with her, who returned from the country of Moab. Now they came to Bethlehem at the beginning of barley harvest.

Ruth 2

Ruth Meets Boaz

1 There was a relative of Naomi’s husband, a man of great wealth, of the family of Elimelech. His name was Boaz. 2 So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.”
And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.”
3 Then she left, and went and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And she happened to come to the part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.
4 Now behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, “The LORD be with you!”
And they answered him, “The LORD bless you!”
5 Then Boaz said to his servant who was in charge of the reapers, “Whose young woman is this?”

Believe me, people are watching what your are doing and how you go about doing it. The are not only watching your actions, but also your attitudes. Your actions as you follow Jesus will put you in the right place at the right time. You will have favor with God and with man. This is so awesome, reminds me of my favorite verse in( proverbs 3:3-6

6 So the servant who was in charge of the reapers answered and said, “It is the young Moabite woman who came back with Naomi from the country of Moab. 7 And she said, ‘Please let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves.’ So she came and has continued from morning until now, though she rested a little in the house.”
8 Then Boaz said to Ruth, “You will listen, my daughter, will you not? Do not go to glean in another field, nor go from here, but stay close by my young women. 9 Let your eyes be on the field which they reap, and go after them. Have I not commanded the young men not to touch you? And when you are thirsty, go to the vessels and drink from what the young men have drawn.”
10 So she fell on her face, bowed down to the ground, and said to him, “Why have I found favor in your eyes, that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner?”
11 And Boaz answered and said to her, “It has been fully reported to me, all that you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and have come to a people whom you did not know before. 12 The LORD repay your work, and a full reward be given you by the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you have come for refuge.”

God will repay your work! He sees everything you do, even those things that you have done in secret.
13 Then she said, “Let me find favor in your sight, my lord; for you have comforted me, and have spoken kindly to your maidservant, though I am not like one of your maidservants.”
14 Now Boaz said to her at mealtime, “Come here, and eat of the bread, and dip your piece of bread in the vinegar.” So she sat beside the reapers, and he passed parched grain to her; and she ate and was satisfied, and kept some back. 15 And when she rose up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, “Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not reproach her. 16 Also let grain from the bundles fall purposely for her; leave it that she may glean, and do not rebuke her.”
17 So she gleaned in the field until evening, and beat out what she had gleaned, and it was about an ephah of barley. 18 Then she took it up and went into the city, and her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned. So she brought out and gave to her what she had kept back after she had been satisfied.
19 And her mother-in-law said to her, “Where have you gleaned today? And where did you work? Blessed be the one who took notice of you.”
So she told her mother-in-law with whom she had worked, and said, “The man’s name with whom I worked today is Boaz.”
20 Then Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, “Blessed be he of the LORD, who has not forsaken His kindness to the living and the dead!” And Naomi said to her, “This man is a relation of ours, one of our close relatives.”
21 Ruth the Moabitess said, “He also said to me, ‘You shall stay close by my young men until they have finished all my harvest.’”
22 And Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, “It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his young women, and that people do not meet you in any other field.” 23 So she stayed close by the young women of Boaz, to glean until the end of barley harvest and wheat harvest; and she dwelt with her mother-in-law.

It is so awesome to see how Ruth made a choice to follow Naomi and Naomi’s God and how provision and protection surrounded her. You can continue to read in Ruth chapter 3 and see the ongoing provision of the Lord over both Ruth’s life and Naomi’s and how the actions of Boaz also effecting the lives of these two ladies in a remarkable way. When we walk in our assignment from the Lord and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit it will have an impact on other peoples lives. Allow God to use you in a remarkable way to touch someone else and make a difference in their life.

God Bless You
